Moments after meeting the most gorgeous guy ever, Gabby Winters promptly gets stung by a zillion yellow jackets and falls-not gracefully-into a stream. Yup, Ethan Hunter is trouble with a capital "hot," and Gabby definitely needs to keep her distance. Except in the small town of Haven, there's nowhere to hide from Ethan's sexy, infectious grin . . . and all the residents are conspiring against her.

At the center of the town's matchmaking is Ethan's grandmother, who's convinced their relationship is a done deal. Rather than break her heart, Gabby and Ethan find themselves cornered into pretending to be falling in love. The problem: there's serious sizzling attraction between them. And if this charade continues, they won't fool just the entire town - they might fool themselves too . . .

When Ethan awoke, sunlight was streaming through his window, and based on the tent in his sheets, Gabby was still on his mind. He closed his eyes and started counting backward from fifty, his morning tradition to relieve the pressure so that he could leave the bedroom without being indecent in front of Gram.

His dick was just starting to relax when his phone pinged with an incoming text. Welcoming the distraction, he reached over and grabbed it off the nightstand.

The text was from Gabby. Thinking about you this morning and hoping that problem we talked about hasn’t gotten too hard to handle.

She’d inserted a little winking emoticon at the end, followed by a sunrise and a tree. Morning wood. And yep, that problem had just gotten really hard again.

Killing me. He texted back.

That bad, huh?

Oh yeah, it was bad. Getting worse by the second.

I’d be happy to help you with it if you want to stop by This was followed by several colorful hearts.

His poor cock ached at the thought. But… No can do. Gotta take Gram to an appointment.

Oh. Bummer.

No kidding. Gotta go. Chatting with you is not helping the issue.

He thrust his phone back onto the bedside table and lay there, concentrating on the sounds of Gram moving around in the kitchen until his dick finally accepted defeat. Then he went down the hall and took a long, cold shower.

Get the tissues ready!

Based on the story taking place in a small town - Haven, NC - put it on Cowboys 'n Country rather than CUDDLES PLEASE my other book review blog.  I also loved the cover, thinking this book would be a nice little romance - right up my alley.  Well, little did I know that Run to You is like one of those movies that's supposed to be a comedy like say, Mrs. Doubtfire.  Then you start to watch it only to discover that there's a bunch of tears caused by feelings in the story you did not expect. Those leave you with puffy eyes, torn up tissues and feeling basically verklempt.  Truthfully though, I was pleasantly surprised on how emotional this book was as well as funny, sexy, encouraging and full of... yes, I'm gonna say

So let's get to the nitty gritty.  We have three main characters - Gabby, Ethan and Gran.  Gabby was running from an abusive relationship, trying to put her life back together and redefine herself and find her strength of self.  In trying to do so, she was a bit geeky and awkward but that is part of what made me love her and relate to her.

An angry nest of hornets cause Gabby to run into Ethan's arms (How's that for a first meeting?) and *+*Poof*+* it's like magic.  The chemistry between the two of them is undeniable.  And while Gabby is more than a little man-shy and has sworn off them for the time being. Ethan is not much better off.  With a seriously painful childhood to overcome and his hands more than full trying get a new business off the ground with two of his long-time friends he's in no place for a relationship at this time.  On top of this, his gran, whom he adores, may have little time left on this earth.  He would do anything to make her happy.  Anything including perhaps faking a relationship with Gabby since one of Gran's few wishes is that he love and be loved in return. Gabby and Ethan were cute together as they faked it too.

Now just tell me, in stories (Heavens NOT IRL!) who doesn't love a cute meddling grandma?  She always has the best of her loved ones at heart and her methods are usually humorous for us as the outsiders.  Ethan's Gran is no different.  She totally reminds me of Sookie's Gran in True Blood.

Gabby and Ethan ended up having to decide if their 'fake' relationship was more than just a fling.  I loved how they interacted.  Yes there were sex scenes but overall they were pretty tame.  Ethan and Gabby both had issues but eventually were able to figure out how to put the past where it belongs....behind you. I'm not going to tell you much else about what happened in the book.  You'll just need to read it for yourself.  :)

Now I do love a good series set in small towns were we get to meet extended family and/or friends.  Based on how Rachel introduced us to Ethan's two long-time friends, my bet's on them for sure.  I loved getting to know our grounded yet hurt-and-getting-back-better-than-before heroine, our jumping off all kinds of cliffs both physical and emotional hero and our tenacious and strong-as-they-come gran.  Placing the story in the beautiful Carolinas was a happy memory for me as well and a comforting place to set the story in.  Rachel Lacey is on to something here and it's something good.
